Why the LUCROS EVAPORATION SYSTEM?

Disposing of wastewater fluids used in manufacturing processes has always been recognised as a necessary evil, not just because of the associated costs involved with disposing of them. Efforts over recent years to ensure cutting fluids last longer by recycling and filtration methods have reduced the volumes of fluids needed to be disposed of, but these systems can be very expensive and eventually the fluids still become depleted and then have to be removed from site.

With more and more companies now encompassing ISO 14001 standards, minimising wastewater for many is now top of their agenda. One way to overcome the costs of disposing of waste fluids is with a Lucros Evaporation System. Once installed, the system will simply evaporate the water phase of whatever fluid that is put into it. For example, 500 litres of waste cutting fluid would, after just a few hours in the system be reduced to less than 25 litres. The cost savings resulting from such an installation would typically provide a payback in less than two years, and more often than not inside twelve months. The Lucros Evaporation System is not only suited for waste cutting fluid emulsions, but will cope with many other non-flammable water based liquids including cleaning fluids and pressure washer solutions, reducing them to a fraction of the original volume.

Managing Director Kevin Hamblin explains, 'most companies who have installed these units have not only achieved significant cost savings by eliminating 95% of their cutting fluid disposal bill, but also reduced many other disposal charges associated with production such as parts washer fluids, vibratory liquids and rinse system solutions. As a result, major contributions towards their own ISO 14001 company policy are achieved'.

Depending on the volumes of wastewater requiring evaporation, Lucros Evaporators are available in different sizes with varying tank capacities. Once delivered on site, the units are ready for installation requiring only a vent stack to extract the steam created by the evaporation process.

Electrical supply is three phase 415V, with an incoming fuse switch providing fuse protection and isolation, and an IP65 rated control panel. All models are CE certified.
