Operating
the LUCROS EVAPORATION SYSTEM?
Operating the Lucros Evaporator is a very simple process. Once the tank is filled with wastewater, depress the start button and the heating elements will be activated. After an initial heat up period of 3 hours, the system reaches set point temperature (approximately 100'C) and maximum evaporation rates are achieved. Depending on the model installed, evaporation rates vary between 20-50 litres per hour. During the initial heating of the fluid, at 70'C the exhaust fan automatically starts, drawing any steam generated towards the exhaust stack. An L.C.D. provides a constant indication of the actual temperature inside the tank, and a low-level tank probe ensures the contents are at a sufficient level for the unit to run. Should the temperature increase beyond the set point, another high temperature thermostat located in the lower section of the tank is employed to automatically shut the system off until the temperature falls below its required setting. The electrical design feature for heating 3 x 7.2 Kw elements used in the system makes the Lucros Evaporator extremely energy efficient, saving 35% of energy normally required for this type of installation. The temperature of the wastewater is regulated by a digital PID controller (proportional/integral/derivative action), which controls signals to a Solid State power relay that in turn regulates the power supplied to the heating elements. This has the effect of pulsing intermittently the elements to maintain temperature rather than constantly using kilowatts. |
